Powercor crews responded to a fault in Mortlake on Saturday at approximately 12:30pm, which occurred due to a felled tree bringing down a powerline on the Hamilton Highway.

“A large tree had brought down a powerline across the Hamilton Highway causing an initial outage for 2000 customers,” a Powercor spokesperson said.

“Supply was progressively restored, with all customers back on supply by approximately 5pm.

“We thank these customers for their patience while our team worked as safely and as quickly as possible to have power restored.

“Customers were kept up to date via our website and via SMS, where we have the details.”
