End of season for hockey players
THIS week marked the end of the season for Corangamite Hockey’s women’s team.
For the first time in many years the club was able to enter a full side in the Hockey South West competition (thanks to the generosity of sponsors).
The under 14s demonstrated great teamwork last week, fully embracing the coach’s guidance and utilising the entire field to their advantage.
Their communication and passing led to a 4-0 victory for Corangamite.
Last Friday night marked the final night of the under 16 competition.
It was a great last game with everyone giving their all and playing well together.
The final score was a 4-1 loss, with a goal to Isla, but the scoreline didn’t represent the true competitiveness of the play.
The winner of the ‘You Rock’ award was Reece. Well done.
A special farewell to Oliver, Ned and Saxxon, who will be too old to play next year. Well done on a great season.
Jason Symons would also like to thank all the parents who have helped this season, and for getting their children to Warrnambool every week.
The club extends its thanks to Jason and Michelle for coordinating the under 16 teams this season
Thanks also to Fiona and Sharna for running the canteen each Friday night.
This was a generous contribution to make everyone’s cold evenings a little more comfortable.
Thanks also to Jared for coaching this year – he has done a fantastic job.
Saturday saw the second last game for Corangamite under 12s’ Warrnambool season and what spectacular games they were.
The teams should be so proud of their gameplay and sportsmanship that is evident in every game they play.
Well done team and good like next week.
