Enrolments now open: Baranbali’s three-year-old and four-year-old kindergartens are now open for enrolments for 2025.

Kindergarten director Bronwyn O’Keeffe said the recent opening of the enrolment period is “always an exciting time” as the four-year-olds get ready to attend school.

“I’m excited because I already know some of the three-year-olds that will be transferring over to the four-year-olds (program), and it’s always nice to welcome returning families and also getting to meet new families as well,” she said.

“It’s always bittersweet because you get to know them so well.

“We’re also doing some transition to school visits in the second half of the year, so it’s always nice to see the development and see how they’re now ready for school, but it’s always hard to say goodbye.”

Ms O’Keeffe said aims to create a welcoming environment for new and returning families as they make decisions for the next year.

“I want them to feel very relaxed and feel they’re welcome – that they’re comfortable to ask us questions and to be part of their children’s progress and development,” she said.

“We welcome their input.

“It’s a really friendly kinder – we’re there to support families and to work with them.

“We want them to feel that they can always come in and participate and contribute.”

The kindergartens both run sessions three times a week, running for five hours at Baranbali and five hours and 15 minutes at Kanandah.

Like previous years, the State Government is covering kindergarten fees.

Ms O’Keeffe said Baranbali and Kanandah work to ensure “everyone gets a place.”

“We’re a really community-based kindergarten, and anybody that enrols during the enrolment period when it’s opened is assured a place,” she said.

“They’re welcome to come and have a look around at any time, and we welcome all enrolments.

“We have an open enrolment policy – everyone is welcome here.

“We’re very proud of the facilities, and we think their children will have a great year - or two years with the three-year-old and the four-year-old, whichever they’re deciding on.”

The enrolment period closes on Friday, August 16.

Ms O’Keeffe said the kindergarten facilities are always improving through the work of the committee, which helps to organise new equipment and capital works.

“We’re always trying to make the kindergarten better and to stay a really modern kindergarten. It’s a town kindergarten – it belongs to everyone in the community,” she said.

Enrolment documents are available online at baranbalicamperdown.kindergarten.vic.gov.au, or hard copies can be obtained from the kindergarten at 50 Campbell Street, Camperdown between 9am to 2pm.

Alternatively, families can email baranbali.kin@kindergarten.vic.gov.au, or call 5593 1936 to receive an enrolment package.

Forms can then be returned in person, via email, or by posting to PO Box 146 Camperdown, VIC 3260.
