A NUMBER of sites along the Terang streetscape are set for a revamp as part of a continuing façade upgrade program.

During its Ordinary Meeting of Council on Tuesday, Corangamite Shire Council approved $9225 in funding for Terang projects as part of its Retail Area Façade Improvement Program (RAFIP).

The successful projects were:

  • 152 High Street, Terang – $3000;

  • Wheatsheaf Hotel – $3000;

  • Scanlon’s Dairy Centre – $2750; and

  • South West Bowen Clinic – $475.

With each successful applicant required to match the funding, the total cost of the projects would reach $18,450.

Councillor Wayne Oakes said the upcoming works would be “very exciting” for all successful businesses.

“I look forward to seeing the results,” he said.

Potential works to be funded as part of the program would include:

  • Painting of the façade;

  • Cleaning the existing façade;

  • Removal of redundant signage, air conditioning units and hoardings;

  • Minor repair, maintenance or reinstatement of missing elements;

  • Minor repairs to existing façade tile or stone accents;

  • Minor repairs to structural façade elements and awnings; and

  • Installation of new verandahs or repairs to existing verandahs.

A further 17 businesses across Camperdown, Cobden, Timboon and Port Campbell received funding via the program.
