Fancy a spot of fishing?
MORE than 35,000 catchable-size rainbow trout have been stocked into 80 lakes across the state ahead of the school holidays.
Lake Cobden’s delivery of 300 rainbow trout did not go ahead due to poor water quality or low water levels, according to the Victorian Fisheries Authority.
The Simpson Dam received 300 rainbow trout as expected.
The Labor Government’s $96 million Go Fishing and Boating Plan has backed the Victorian Fisheries Authority to stock more than 29.5 million fish since 2021.
Minister for Outdoor Recreation Steve Dimopoulos said a record-breaking stocking of 11.5 million fish had been completed this year.
“Our record-breaking fish stocking program means great recreational fishing for all Victorians and attracting more families and friends to every corner of Victoria to enjoy this great activity,” he said.
