WESTERN Ag recently held a special ‘Ladies Night’ presentation on farm safety.

The ‘Ladies Night’ is run for rural ladies from across the district to come together, and was held at the Mt Elephant Information Centre.

The event saw 90 people attend, which was also met with positive feedback from the community.

Event co-organiser Samantha Lees said the turnout was “fantastic”, and also recognised the importance of farm safety.

“We work with farmers every day, and we want to see them being safe,” she said.

“We don’t want to hear of when accidents happen, and it’s a terrible thing when it does.

“You have your children that want to go out on the farm with mum or dad out on the farm, and we want to make sure that they’re staying safe as well.

“We just want to see everyone coming home at the end of the day.”

Co-organiser Claudia Higgins said she hoped to bring different topics and different speakers each year.

“It’s a great initiative,” she said.

“We’re hoping to do one each year.

“We’d like to thank our sponsors Imtrade CropScience, FMC, Incitec Pivot Fertilisers, Sipcam, Elanco, Vicchem, Adama, UPL, BASF, Corteva, Zoetis, Heinger, and Koch Fertiliser.

“Without them, this Ladies’ Night would not have been possible.”
