Festival a success
THE Colour Terang Festival drew thousands in yet another successful event.
Terang Progress Association president Ken McSween said he was “very satisfied” with how the event unfolded last Friday in perfect weather conditions.
“I think we had a similar crowd to last year, with perhaps a few more,” he said.
“The car show went off really well, with plenty of motorbikes that turned up.
“A lot of the food vans had a good time and stall holders seemed pretty happy.
“I spoke to a mother towards the end of the event who said how nice it was to hear all the laughter, the giggles and the happiness from the kids all running around together.
“We’re proud to be able to put together an event like this – there has been more than 100 responses to feedback and we’re always looking to build on it, but in general it went really well.”
Mary Bradshaw Avenue was awash with colour as local residents and visitors alike made the most of the free community event, with live music, market stalls and the car show topping the list of attendee’s favourite attractions.
Mr McSween said early feedback highlighted strong support for the event but has made clear the need for more volunteers to help ensure the event can meet expectations.
“We’re a small, dedicated bunch and I thank all the helpers involved for doing what they could,” he said.
“It would be nice to have some more volunteers on board next year to help make the event all it can be.
“We’ve already picked up a new member to come on board and she’s also said she’s interested in becoming a committee member.”
