An incredibly fun-filled night started with the warm up, taken by our “newest” coach, Gingerbread Lady (Krystal).

After the warm up, athletes then came back for a Zooper Dooper Christmas treat before heading off to the first event.

Santa Rae did an awesome job handing out Coles merchandise at the finish line to all athletes.

The centre is incredibly lucky to have such a great Santa’s helper able to attend its special competition night.

A highlight of the night was seeing so many awesome athletes dressing up in Christmas dress- up.

It’s a busy time of the year and we truly appreciate the effort that our families and athletes put in to make the night look so Christmassy.

The winners of the special Christmas night event spot prizes will be announced at a later date.

This will give the committee a chance to get together and vote on who they felt embodied Christmas and who they also felt got into the Christmas spirit the best.

Thank you so much to all the parents for jumping in and helping the night run so well.

Due to Christmas functions, school functions and illness, there was a few committee members absent so the help was much appreciated.

It was fantastic to see everyone chip in where needed, many without being asked or prompted.

This is such a strength in our centres and it helped the night run a lot smoother.

After the completion of most events, the night finished off with a bit fun.

Athletes, Santa, the Gingerbread Lady and the Elf had a very competitive 50m sprint.

The “old” members of the team were grateful that some of the bigger boys gave them a 10m head start (although were still beaten over the line).

The event was completed with lots of laughter and fun all round.

The committee wishes to thank all participants, families and helpers for again making the last night such a fun filled one.

The committee will upload a Christmas album of photos in the coming days and would appreciate any families who have photos of the night, sending them through.

The centre loves seeing all the happy faces of our athletes, and being able to showcase them on its pages for family members and those who could not attend the night would be awesome.

The centre will now have a short Christmas break and looks forward to seeing everyone back at the Camperdown College sports precinct oval for the second half of the season, beginning on February 2.

Please check social media for important dates and we ask that families please be aware that region track and field entries have now opened.

There is an entry fee but the centre would love to see as many CLAC44 athletes in attendance on February 10 and 11 at Llanberris Oval Ballarat for the carnival weekend.

Entries close prior to our return to competition (on January 22) so families should be looking for the email from the LAVic team with registration details.
