Final round of table tennis
THE final round of Terang Table Tennis saw the top two sides both finish with wins.
The ladder remains the same, with Ghanda missing out on the fourth spot as Battlers won more rubbers across the season.
This week the singles championship will be contested with two grades, with the reigning champion CallumMcSween the player to beat in A grade.
TIC was able to win narrowly 6-5 against Battlers.
Colin Venn with three singles wins and Tyler Smith with two wins, combined together to win the doubles and got their team over the line.
Mark Smith won two singles while Peter Maina and Kim Anderson won a singles each for Battlers.
Rhino’s finished the season with a 7-4 win against I Don’t Care.
Tony Young won his three singles and a doubles, with VeshaChapagai winning two singles and John Rantall a singles and a doubles.
John’s singles victory against Shai Karney was one of the closest matches of the night, 9-11, 11-4, 11-8, 8-11, 11-7.
For the losing side, Pat Nicholson won two singles and a doubles with Michael Pearson (who also won a singles).
Interestingly, both these matches will be replayed next week in the semi-finals.
