THE finals season has come to an end for Lismore Derrinallum’s footballers.

The Demons’ senior and reserves sides were both defeated in their respective semi-finals at Macarthur last Sunday, with the seniors going down by 51 points to Woorndoo Mortlake and the reserves by just four points to Ararat.

Senior coach Alec Wiltshire said while it was a “disappointing end” to the season, he wished the Tigers all the best for their preliminary final clash with the Eagles this weekend.

“To their credit, the Tigers made full use of their opportunities and flexed their muscle in the second quarter when they piled on eight goals to our one,” Wiltshire said.

“It’s certainly disappointing not to be playing this weekend but that’s footy.

“We probably didn’t fully capitalise on our opportunities, especially with the wind, nor did we execute our skills.”

In good news for the Demons, Wiltshire has re-signed to lead the club in season 2023 and said he was looking forward to going even further next year.

“We finished sixth last year and third this season so we’ve certainly taken some great steps forward that’s for sure,” Wiltshire said.

“We’ll just let the dust settle abit for the next couple of weeks and then we’ll start our preparation for next season.”

Final scores last Sunday were Lismore Derrinallum 8.6.54 to Woorndoo Mortlake 15.15.105.

Best for the Demons were Will Langley, Jack Pitts, Josh Anderson, Hayden Brett and Steven Ryan.

Goals went to Michael Lockyer (5), William Beaver and Hayden Brett.

In the reserves match, the Demons went down 7.12.54 to Ararat 8.10.58.

Best players for the Demons were Dale Marquand, Paul Hodder, James Sanders-Brown, Clint Dudman and Stephen Parr.

Goal kickers were Matthew Levings (3), Matthew Bacon, Clint Dudman, Ryan Jeffrey and Ryan Marquand.
