POLICE are investigating after a burglary and an attempted break-in at Lismore in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The Blue Yabby Café was broken into on Wednesday morning, with food items being stolen from the premises.

The store posted on Facebook on Wednesday morning, announcing a closure due to the break-in.

Lismore’s Foodworks was also targeted, but offenders were unable to gain entry.

Warrnambool’s detective acting sergeant Derek Verity said the offenders forced entry through the front of the café.

“Offenders have broken the front glass doors, costing $1000 of damage,” he said.

“The offenders searched through various cupboards and shelving at the Blue Yabby and have stolen food products.”

Anyone with any information should either call their local police station or Crime Stoppers on 1300 333 000
