Four held, three approved

CORANGAMITE Shire Council received a flurry of applications for the May round of the Quick Response Grant.

CORANGAMITE Shire Council received a flurry of applications for the May round of the Quick Response Grant.

Councillors voted to hold over four applications until the June meeting, approving three.

Successful applicants were:

• Purvis Eureka Car Club of Australia, $500 towards the running costs of an event hosted within the Corangamite Shire;

• Camperdown State Emergency Service, $500 towards the purchase of a barbecue; and

• Camperdown Probus Club, $500 towards the purchase of a portable PA system.

The applications held over until the June meeting were:

• Carpendeit Public Hall and Recreation committee, $500 to replace an oven;

• Terang Golf Club, $359 to purchase a four in one multi-tool garden tool kit;

• Rotary Club of Cobden Inc, $400 to produce a brochure to promote the Cobden Rotary Mini Golf Course; and

• Cobden Information Centre auspiced by Progressing Cobden Inc, $500 for installation of a permanent sign at the Cobden Information Centre.

Following the May round of the grant program there was just $1484.50 remaining in the funding pool.

The Coastal Ward and South Central Ward has $100 respectively.

The North Ward has $1150, South West Ward just $55 and Central Ward $79.50.

North Ward councillor Nick Cole encouraged groups to get their funding applications in.

He said he was looking forward to seeing the Purvis Eureka Car Club of Australia visiting this year.
