COULD you climb four peaks in one day?
Earlier this month, more than 50 participants took up the challenge to reach the summit of the four local volcanoes in the one day.
“Starting at 9.30am at the base of Mount Leura, in fine conditions, everyone tackled the uphill and downhill of our two Camperdown dormant peaks,” event organiser John Fallon said.
“Walkers came from Ballarat, Geelong, Warrnambool, Melbourne and locally to then continue on to Mount Elephant and Mount Noorat.
“(The event offers) great views, a good challenge and a wonderful sense of achievement at the end.
“You also get a greater understanding of the Victorian Volcanic Plain and its eruption points.”
The event is an annual challenge and many walkers were repeat participants from previous years.
