COBDEN and surrounds are well protected with a full suite of police officers now based at the Cobden station.
Cobden Police sergeant Craig Jenkins said there was now five officers stationed at Cobden, which was a first in his time at the station.
“It’s good for responses and addresses our communities needs,” he said.
“It enables us to be more proactive with our targeting of issues and to be more present in the community.”
Sgt Jenkins said the new members were settling in well at the station.
“Each member of the team brings their own skills,” he said.
Senior Constable’s Sam McCosh and Travis Cooknell join Sgt Jenkins, Leading Senior Constable Rachel Wass and Senior Constable Ash Pitt.

“It’s been really positive so far,” Snr Const McCosh said.
“I didn’t know what I was expecting, but I’ve been pleasantly surprised.
“They (the community) seem happy to have more police member’s in the community.”
Snr Const Cooknell also comes to Cobden from the Warrnambool station.
He said he had been in the police force for five years.
“I grew up in the Corangamite area,” Snr Const Cooknell said.
