The school cohort went to school dressed in their pyjamas as part of a fundraiser and awareness day for children in foster care.

The school Wellbeing Group organised and planned the day, which including creating posters and sharing information with their peers.

Acting principal Ilona Watkins said it was important for the school to raise awareness for children who are in foster care.

“Foster carers do such a fabulous job and our local agencies such as MacKillop Family Services are desperate for more carers,” she said.

“It’s something many people can do, and benefits for your own children are visible too as they develop empathy and learn that many children are not as fortunate as themselves.

“Working in education, our staff are passionate, not only about education but also the health and wellbeing of our students.”
