Gale takes A grade

VETERAN golfer Allan Gale has taken out the A grade competition at Lake Bolac last week.

The stableford competition attracted 31 players to the course on Monday, August 19.

Gale, from Lake Bolac, finished on 37 points to win ahead of Don Witham of Colac on 36.

Third place went to Trevor Gardner of Cobden on 35 and Bernie Bourke (Cobden) was NAGA on 26 points on countback.

B grade was won by Camperdown’s Geoff Webber on 35 points, followed by Stan Berry of Warrnambool, 34 on countback from Charles Cowell (East Framlingham) on 34.

The B grade NAGA went to Vince Beekman from Peterborough on 23 points.

Nearest the pins – second shot on the 9th and 18th Don Witham (Colac); 2nd and 11th Trevor Gardner (Cobden), 8th and 17th Ivan Hucker (Lake Bolac).
