Gaming heaven in Simpson this month
LOCAL youth can Level Up their gaming skills this month in Simpson.
On Friday, September 27 Simpson and District Community Centre co-ordinator Debra Smith is hosting a gaming day at the Simpson Community Hall between 11am and 3pm.
“We were fortunate to get some funding through the Victorian Governments part of YouthFest, which is what is funding the event,” she said.
“Level Up run gaming events with VR (virtual reality) headsets, latest generation gaming consoles as well as some vintage retro consoles and will be setting up and running the event in Simpson.
“It is targeted at youth between 12 to 25, but really it’s open to anyone with a love of gaming.”
Mrs Smith said she is looking forward to the free event.
“There isn’t a lot of opportunity in rural communities for gamers to get together and showcase their skills, share their love of gaming and be in a face-to-face environment,” she said.
“With so much focus on football this time of year it is an opportunity for those who don’t play mainstream sport to be the spotlight.”
The event is free and open to the wider community, but booking is required via Trybooking at https://www.trybooking.com/CTWLT.
