Gertie MacDonald wins championship
MORTLAKE bowler Gertie MacDonald has been named the club’s A grade women’s champion for 2024-25.

Congratulations to Gertie and runner-up Sandra Richie.
In midweek pennant last week, the fifth round was played in division three (away at City).
Mortlake 1 Purple (division three) lost to City 9 Jade 23-56.
Val Smith lost to Jennifer Smith 14-18, Dianne Robertson lost to Fred Chatfield 17-29.
The team for Mortlake Purple next week against Terang 2 Red wasn’t available before deadline so be sure to check the selection board at the clubrooms.
Tuesday’s social pennant was also played this week.
Mortlake White defeated Cobden 36-34 (home).
Ian MacDonald def Ray Pat Hickey 17-13, Max Heard lost to Richard McVilly 19-21.
Mortlake Blue defeated Terang 43-35 (away).
Don Murray defeated Ray Bond 20-14, Paul Delaney defeated Graeme Arkinstall 23-31.
Round five weekend pennant results:
Mortlake 1 Blue (division one) lost to Warrnambool 1 Gold 54-58 at home.
Darren Grant lost to Ben Cornick 20-22, George Draffen lost to Mark Bowles 15-19 and Les Johnson defeated Paul O’Donnell 19-17.
Mortlake Blue are currently fourth on the ladder behind Portland Memorial, two points behind second placed Warrnambool 1 Gold and a further five points behind top placed Warrnambool 2 Blue.
Just 10 points separate first from seventh.
Mortlake 2 White (division two) drew with City 4 Blue 62-all away.
Colin Inverarity defeated Rob Treweek 19-17, Justin Rasmussen lost to Anthony Bourke 16-28 and Richard Draffen defeated Don Price 27-17.
Mortlake White is still fourth on the ladder, one point ahead of fifth-placed Timboon 2 Maroon and two points behind Koroit 2 Saints in third.
Mortlake 3 Gold (division four) lost to Dunkeld 2 White 39-28 away on Sunday.
Don Murray lost to Geoff Montgomery 16-21 and Frank Robertson lost to Gary Wall 12-18.
Mortlake Gold has slipped back to sixth place.
Team selections are still being finalised for round six this weekend so check the board in the clubrooms.

A reminder Mortlake RSL is having a bowls day with a huge raffle this Sunday, November 24.
The cost is just $7 to play and everyone is welcome – with proceeds helping the Mortlake RSL continue its work within the community.
