Saturday, June 4 – Holcim Quarries stroke, monthly medal.

A field of 24 men and four ladies competed for their respective monthly medals. Two grades were declared.

The weather was mostly fine, with only a couple of light showers late in the day. The day was fairly cool.

RESULTS:

A Grade: winner – Simon Baker (73–2–71), privilege pot and monthly medal winner; runner-up – David Horan (77–3–74) on a three-way count back from Darren Cheeseman (82–8–74) and Bernie Sinnott (84–10–74).

B Grade: winner – Ricky Carr (91–15–76); runner-up – Melissa Fox (103–26–77).

Nearest the pins: Tom Baker (second hole); Dave Absalom (second shot on seventh hole); Tom Moran, Donna Conheady (ninth hole); Jack Kerr (15th hole); Tracey Baker (16th hole, ladies’ second shot), Tom Moran (17th hole).

Best nine out – Simon Baker (19 points).

Best nine in – Mel Fox (19 points).

Balls Down the Line: Bernie Sinnott 74; Tom Baker 79; Tom Moran 78; Dave Absalom 76; Liam Lafferty 79; Jason Murrell 79; Darren Cheeseman 74; Andrew Burrows 79; Tracey Baker 79.

Putting competition: Simon Baker (26 putts).

Longest putt on the 18th was won by Geoff Webber.

Encouragement Award: Dale Evans, with nett 96.

It has been reported that the “Children’s Hospital Fine Jar” got a good workout also. Many putting infringements and OOB fines. All for a great cause!

Another “big” day of prizes and awards. Thanks to everyone who participated.

The day concluded with a celebration of the success of Camperdown Golf Club’s pennant teams this season, which included two winning men’s teams and the ladies winning one and having a near miss in the other.

Thursday, June 2 and Friday, June 3 – Forbes Cup.

Despite the cold weather the Camperdown ladies enjoyed their trip to Ararat to compete in the 60th Forbes Cup at Chalambar Golf Club.

On Thursday Doreen Horan and Gayle Gill won the division two 4BBB, while Maree Finlay and Liz Fry were runners up.

In Friday’s stroke round neither team could claim the prize, however there were some excellent individual performances.

Terri Sinnott won division two scratch with 98, while Marg White won division two handicap with 101 (25) 76 net. Maree Finlay won division three handicap with 107 (31) 76 net.

Thursday, June 2 and Friday, June 3 – Chicken Run bottom nine.

A field of 16 players contested the stableford 9-hole Chicken Run event this week.

RESULTS:

Winner – Jeremy Baker (23) 21 points;

runner-up – Darren Cheeseman (8) 20 points on count back from Simon Baker.

Nearest the pins: Bernie Sinnott (15th hole);

Jeremy Baker (17th hole).

Balls down the line: Simon Baker (2) 20 points;

Bernie Sinnott (11) 18 points.
