COBDEN Cricket Club’s division one side got its season off to a great start last weekend, with a 54-run win over Noorat.

Division one captain Simon Murfett said he was “thrilled” with his side’s performance on Saturday.

“It was a great start to the season and we were all stoked to be able to finally get out on the park,” Murfett said.

“Eddie Walsh enjoyed his debut match in div one and made a comfortable 29 runs at the crease.”

Murfett also made mention of Tom Mahony, who has crossed to the Knights from Allansford this season.

“We’re excited to have Tom with us this season and he performed well for us on the weekend, taking a few wickets.”

The Knights finished the day on 9/165cc while restricting Noorat to just 111.

Best with the bat for the Knights were Matthew Kemp 51, Eddie Walsh 29 and Jack Rock on 18.

Best of the bowlers were Gus Bourke 4/33, T. Clissold 2/17 and I. Kenna 2/35.
