TWO Woorndoo Mortlake sides remain in the hunt for premiership glory.

The club’s senior footballers and 18 and under netballers will line-up in their respective Mininera League grand final matches this Saturday.

The netballers, having finished the home and away season premiers and champions, won their way through to grand final day after defeating Caramut 37-27 in the semi-final.

They will face Penshurst in this weekend’s grand final.

The Tigers’ senior footballers will go into their grand final match against Tatyoon on the wave of a hard-earned 35-point preliminary final win over Wickliffe Lake Bolac.

The Tigers’ reserves fell 24-points short of victory over Ararat in last weekend’s preliminary final.

After a relatively even first quarter, the Tigers went into the main break 16 points down and found it difficult to make up the difference in the second half, with the final scores Ararat 10.3.63 to Woorndoo Mortlake 5.9.39.

Best for the Tigers were Ethan Mayhew, Issac Fowler, Mitch Walsh, Jack Gordon, Mac Shaw and Justin Snow.

Goals went to Ben Makepeace (2), Wayne Loader, Tyler Seabrook and Mac Shaw.

The Tigers had a tough day out on the netball courts during last weekend’s preliminary finals, with all four sides defeated.

In the A grade game, the Tigers lost to Tatyoon 24-44 while in C grade, they were defeated by Penshurst 23-30 (best players for the Tigers were Sara Kosch and Annabelle Glossop).

In the junior matches, the 15 and unders lost to Wickliffe Lake Bolac 15-22 (best players Lucy Carmody and Santanea Sciascia-Potae).
