Grand final awaits Bloods
TERANG Mortlake’s under 16 footballers have made it through to this Sunday’s Hampden League grand final.
he young Bloods put on an exciting display of skill and teamwork to defeat South Warrnambool by 15 points in last Sunday’s preliminary final, 8.15.63 to 6.12.48.
The Bloods thrilled their supporters from the first bounce, dominating all over the ground and taking a 16-point lead into the main break.
This was extended to 19 points by three quarter time.
In the final term, the Bloods were contained to just one goal three on the scoreboard, however inaccuracy in front of goals resulted in the Roosters kicking 1.8 for the term.
Best players for the Bloods were Sam Wareham, Charlie Kenna, Kane Killen, Caleb Bamford, Josh Slater and Max Heffernan.
Heffernan and Hamish Molan kicked two goals each for the day while Oliver Guthrie, Cooper Herry, Jack Richie and Sam Wareham each contributed a goal.
The Bloods will meet the Koroit Saints in Sunday’s grand final match at Reid Oval.
Action starts from 2pm.
