Greavesys customer holds winning ticket
A GREAVESYS Fruit and Veg customer has won big as part of a national competition encouraging shoppers to support local businesses.
A customer walked away with a new air fryer last week after winning a weekly prize as part of the A Better Choice ‘Shop and Win’ competition.
A Better Choice is a leading national initiative designed to encourage shoppers to support their local fruit and vegetable market.
The initiative aims to educate consumers on the positives associated with supporting more than 550 fruit and vegetable business owners which, in turn, supports wholesalers and the local growers who supply them.
Through the ‘Shop and Win’ competition, A Better Choice has been giving away weekly prizes over nine weeks, totalling $19,000.
Last week, Framlingham’s Lesley Harris walked away with a new Phillips XXL air fryer after being named a winner.
She said as a small business owner herself, she knows all too well how far support for small retailers can go.
“I never win anything so it’s great,” Mrs Harris said.
“I’m in shopping at Greavesys twice a week; it’s a great shop, and I think what Cassie and Jason Greaves have done in the four years I’ve been shopping here has been amazing.
“They support local producers, and I think we should support them.”
Greavesys Fruit and Veg co-owner Cassie Greaves said she was thrilled to have a customer win after having a previous winner just last year.
“I try to encourage our shoppers to enter so it’s great to have someone win again,” she said.
“A Better Choice is an Australian wide initiative named simply because shopping at your local grocer is a better choice over major retailers.
“The Shop and Win competition is just another way to help encourage people to not only get great fresh produce and fabulous service, but getting the chance to win some really cool prizes while supporting a local business and local growers.
“All you have to do to enter is to buy fruit or veggies, whether that’s an apple or a week’s worth of groceries, then enter online with your receipt.”
