Happy faces as school returns
STUDENTS throughout the region returned to classrooms this week as part of the Victorian Government reopening roadmap.

STUDENTS throughout the region returned to classrooms this week as part of the Victorian Government reopening roadmap.
From Monday, students in Prep to Year 6 in standalone primary schools returned to on-site learning.
From today, students in Prep to Year 6 in P-12 schools also returned to on-site learning.
The final step, from October 12, is the return of all school students, including Years 7 to 10 and VCE and VCAL students to on-site learning.
Schools are permitted to stagger the return of different year levels as appropriate during the week.
St. Colman’s School Principal Tim Bourke said school staff was delighted to see the smiles on faces as the children re-entered the school on Monday morning.
“This term we are focusing heavily on the wellbeing of the students as we know their emotional health is vital before good learning can take place,” he said.
“Our first day was an opportunity to reconnect with friends and to settle back into the rhythm of school again.”
“The school staff have done a remarkable job during lockdown to juggle remote learning and on-site teaching for students of essential workers.
“It is a joy and a relief to move back towards normal school life while we are working hard to ensure we provide as safe a learning environment as possible in this pandemic.”
St. Thomas’ Primary School principal Ben Van De Camp said students were excited to see each other and their teachers.
“The sound of children’s voices once again filled our rooms as children returned to school,”he said.
“It was so nice to have their enthusiasm and vibrancy back among us.”
