PETERBOROUGH’S Great Ocean Road Tourist Park has joined the TripAdvisor Hall of Fame.

The popular holiday destination’s owners Sarah and Dean Hellessey received notification the business had received two awards last week.

The business was presented with a 2019 Certificate of Excellence and entered the Hall of Fame for five consecutive years of consistently high rating from travellers.

Mr Hellessey described the accolades as a “nice surprise”.

He said the pair was particularly pleased with the Hall of Fame presentation.

“All the hard work you put in, you don’t quite realise when you’ve done it consistently for that long,” Mr Hellessey said.

Employing eight staff, Mrs Hellessey said the awards were a recognition of the efforts of staff who work to improve the business.

“It’s (the awards) validation for all the hard work,” she said.

“There’s accommodation in Port Campbell that consistently get positive reviews and awards as well, so I think it’s great for our whole industry that there’s so many getting good reviews.

“It’s a positive reflection on the quality accommodation in our region.”

The couple thanked their employees for their work throughout the 16 years they have had the business.

“Once again we thank our staff; it’s a whole team effort,” Mr Hellessey said.

“Our staff put in 110 per cent.”
