Shaping Victoria’s future: Department of Transport and Planning communications and engagement director Niamh Moynihan discussed the new plan with Corangamite Shire Council central ward councillor Geraldine Conheady.

The session was held at the Killara Centre in Camperdown on Thursday, May 30, and was one of 60 pop-up sessions held across Victoria.

A Department of Transport and Planning spokesperson said the sessions were part of the development of a new plan for Victoria for the next 30 years.

“Building on our landmark Housing Statement, a new plan for Victoria will set out what our towns, suburbs, cities and regions look like by 2050,” the spokesperson said.

“As we plan for the future, we want to ensure as many Victorians have their say and that’s why we’re hosting 60 pop-up sessions right across the state.”

Residents made a variety of suggestions, including more variety of homes such as townhouses and units.

Value was also placed on homes being close to transport, jobs and essential services.

Residents who missed out on the pop-up session are able to share their ideas and feedback online at https://engage.vic.gov.au/shape-our-victoria.
