Healey wins Dot Ibbs trophy

THIRTEEN players contested a stableford competition and the second round of the Dot Ibbs trophy at the Cobden Golf Club.

The winner was Sandra Mason, 37 points on a countback from runner-up Judy Myers 37.

Nearest the pins: A grade – 4th Elaine Telford, 10th Janine Stevens; B grade – 4th Chloe Healey, 10th Di McKenzie; C grade – 4th and 10th Netty Hose; gents – Alex Holster.

Nearest the pin, second shot on the 8th was Ellen Darcy in A grade and Netty Hose in C grade.

Balls down the line went to Sherine Healey on three points, Elaine Telford 34 and Carmel Darcy 32.

The Dot Ibbs trophy was won by Sherine Healey with 66 points.

Last Wednesday’s stableford event at Cobden was won by Maureen Clements (24) 40 points.

The runner-up was Judy Walsh (13) 38 points.

Balls down the line went to Linda McKenzie (23) 36 points.

Nearest the pin – 5th (second shot) Linda McKenzie, 14th Linda McKenzie and Nutrien ball on the 13th Sophie Bowker.

Last Saturday saw 37 players contest the monthly medal (stroke) and putting competition.

C. Sargeant won A grade with net 72 from M. Darcy net 75 on countback from S. Dawson and D. Buckle.

J. Rix won B grade on net 66 from S. Healey 67.

Balls down the line: M. Drayton, B. Welsby, L. Robertson, K. Daffy, S. Dawson and D. Buckle.

Nearest the pin: 4th S. Healey, 7th D. Oakley, 10th S. Dawson, closest second on the 2nd (handicap 16-36) was L. Robertson while G. Birnie was closest on the 14th (handicap 0-15).

J. Rix won the monthly medal with net 66 while Rix and C. Sargeant won the putting with 27.

A reminder to all players to tidy up matchplays.

The chicknwun will be held on November 7 while November 9 will be ‘Doing it for Jarrod’ supporting kids with cancer (charity day) – 10.30am for an 11am shotgun start.
