Help shape Timboon precinct plan
RESIDENTS are reminded to head along the launch of the Timboon Precinct Plan on Saturday.
Corangamite Shire mayor Kate Makin said once completed, the plan would provide a clear guide to enhance Timboon’s public spaces to support businesses, encourage community use, and attract greater investment.
“We are at the ideas gathering stage,” she said.
“The town centre is being used more for events and tourism activities linking the Camperdown-Timboon Rail Trail and the Twelve Apostles Trail.
“Where’s the best location for a new public toilet? What would encourage visitors to spend more time in Timboon? How can we improve connections in the town centre and to the natural environment? Is there an opportunity the town is missing?
“All the ideas and feedback collected will help shape a community vision and priorities for the town centre precinct.”
The free event includes a pop-up ice cream van and barbecue on the green in front of a Little Bit of Sweet from mid-morning.
Cr Makin encouraged community members to attend the launch and take part in the process.
“There will be activities to keep the kids busy while you drop into the stall and chat to the project team about your vision for the town,” she said.
“We want everyone in Timboon to have a say about what you love about our town centre, and what you want to see in the future.”
The finished precinct plan will help provide an urban design framework which is easy to understand with clear recommendations and practical design outcomes.
