Help to guide Moyne's community assets
MOYNE Shire Council has called for nominations for five Community Asset Committees (CAC) across the shire as the election of a new council approaches.
CACs give community members a say in how their local facilities are maintained and enhanced.
Committees are seeking new members as a new council is about to be formed, with the wider community invited to nominate to be a member of any of the following CACs:
Koroit Theatre;
Mortlake Recreation Reserve;
Nirranda and District Community Facility;
Southcombe Park, Port Fairy; and
Victoria Park, Koroit.
Moyne Shire Council chief executive officer Mark Eversteyn said community involvement was crucial in operating, maintaining and managing these facilities.
“Sporting and cultural facilities like these are so important to communities, and it’s vital that local voices have a say in how they are run,” he said.
“We encourage anyone who has an interest or skills they can share that will help oversee and improve these community assets. Involvement is not onerous.”
Nominations will close on Monday, November 18 at 5pm. and can be made at www.moyne.vic.gov.au/CaC.
Nomination forms are also available as hard copies at Moyne Shire customer service offices in Mortlake and Port Fairy.
