THIS Week in Heytesbury is a bittersweet one as this is the final edition for a while.

Coming off the back of Nationals in Devonport, Tasmania and the Trans-Tasman Test in Ballarat, Victoria, the last event of the regular season was the Heyetesbury Indoor Bias Bowls Association presentation night.

A sizable group attended the presentation night last Wednesday at Thommo’s Hotel, Cobden.

One last thing to do before we finish up for the season is to thank a lot of people.

Without the army of people that help make Heytesbury function, you wouldn’t be reading this in the newspaper.

First of all, thanks goes to president Max Wines and secretary Pam Wines for their tireless work behind the scenes to make sure the Heytesbury association functions.

To the rest of the executive - senior vice president Ron Absalom, junior vice president Peter Baker, treasurer Joyce Roberts, pennant secretary Maria van Someren, assistant pennant secretary Kathryn Wines and immediate past president Allen Armistead - thank you for your endeavors throughout the year.

Thank you to the match committee, Max and Pam Wines, Maria van Someren, Peter Baker and Jenny Meade for delivering the 2022 season, despite the constant threat of current events.

To everyone that pitched in, helped out, played and supported, thank you very much for your efforts. Teamwork makes the dream work and it certainly did this season.

Last of all, thank you to you, the reader, for taking an interest in the sport of Indoor Bowls and its trials and tribulations.

Without that support and positive feedback, this simply would not happen.
