COBDEN 1 hosted Timboon Lawn 2 in round four of division one pennant.
The home side started off well, scoring six shots to the visitors’ four in the first eight ends.
Unfortunately for Timboon Lawn 2 Skip Noah, jack said instructions were unclear and went off the mat with Cobden 1 picking up a single on the replay.
Honorable mentions go to Cobden 1 third Doreen and skip Glenn for taking jack to its safe place.
Cobden 1 lost to Timboon Lawn 2, 14-19.
Glenormiston 1 hosted Scotts Creek 1 and the home side kicked off the match with four shots to the visitors’ two in the first four ends.
Scotts Creek 1 then broke away, picking up six shots on the next three ends to lead 8-4.
Glenormiston 1 picked up a double and single on ends eight and nine to trail by one.
On ends 10 through 13, Scotts Creek 1 broke away again with six more shots.
With five ends left, singles either way didn’t change much but a quad and a double on ends 16 and 17 brought the home side back to trail by one shot.
Glenormiston 1 lost to Scotts creek 1, 14-16.
Timboon Lawn 1 hosted Camperdown 2. The visitors came out swinging picking up 11 shots, compared to the home team’s 16 in the first half of the match.
Timboon Lawn 1 piled on the shots while keeping Camperdown 2 to five shots for the remainder of the match.
Timboon Lawn 1 defeated Camperdown 1, 35-16.
Laang-Ecklin hosted Camperdown 1 and the first five ends of the match were eventful.
While the visitors picked up a single, the home side picked up 11 shots.
Camperdown 1 picked up seven shots on ends six through eight to trail by three.
Laang-Ecklin picked up four shots and Camperdown 1 also picked up two shots over the next six ends for the visitors to trail by five with four ends to go.
The home side picked up a sextuplet, followed by two singles to close out the match, with Laang-Ecklin defeating Camperdown 1, 23-11.
In division two, Mepunga 2 hosted Simpson 1.
The visitors picked up a pair of singles to open the match, but the visitors picked up 12 shots on ends three through six.
The night didn’t improve much for Simpson 1, with Mepunga 2 picking up nine shots and defeating Simpson 1, 22-9.
Glenormiston 2 played host to Timboon Lawn 4 and the home side jumped out of the gates early, picking up 12 shots to the visitors pair of singles in the first half of the match.
The second half was better for Timboon Lawn 4, but the damage had been done early.
Glenormiston 2 defeated Timboon Lawn 4, 21- 8.
Timboon Lawn 3 hosted Mepunga 1 and both sides started out with two shots each in the first three ends of the match.
Even after end 10, both sides up five shots each to level the match again at seven all.
The visitors then pushed forward with a triple and a pair of singles to lead 12-7 with five ends to play.
Timboon Lawn 3 picked up a much needed quad to lead by one shot with four ends to play.
Even after 16 ends, both teams were level at 14 shots each and the visitors picked up a triple on the penultimate end.
Timboon Lawn 3 lost to Mepunga 1, 16-17.
In division three Cobden 2 hosted Scotts Creek 2 and both sides picked up eight shots in the first seven ends of the match.
The visitors picked up a single on the replay and Cobden 2 picked up a single to take the lead 10-9 and kept applying the pressure, keeping the visitors to a pair of singles for the remainder of the match.
Cobden 2 defeatedScotts Creek 2, 21-11.
Scotts Creek 3 hosted Timboon Lawn 5 and the home side scored 13 shots to the visitors’ 11 in the first half of the match, including a contribution from Timboon Lawn 5 third Rita.
The home side pressed the advantage and kept the visitors to nine shots for the remainder of the match.
Scotts Creek 3 defeated Timboon Lawn 5, 28-19.
Glenormiston 3 hosted Peterborough and both sides scored five shots in the first four ends of the match.
Peterborough broke the deadlock with a single on the next end, but Glenormiston 3 rallied, picking up nine shots on ends six through nine to lead 14-6.
Peterborough replied on the next two ends with a triple and a single to trail by four shots.
Glenormiston 3 defeated Peterborough, 33-13.
