Heytesbury indoor bias bowls association- Notes

ROUND eight pennant action saw Camperdown 2 host Cobden 1 in division one.

ROUND eight pennant action saw Camperdown 2 host Cobden 1 in division one.

The match was a tight affair with scores level twice and with only two ends to play.

The home side was too strong at the end and defeated Cobden 1 19-17.

Camperdown 1 host Glenormiston 1 and the home side picked up six shots in the first three ends of the match but the visitors picked up eight in the next three.

Glenormiston 1 continued their good form to win 14-30.

Timboon Lawn 2 hosted Scotts Creek 1 and the home side got off to a good start.

But by the of the match Scotts Creek 1 had fought back and drew with the host side 14.

Timboon Lawn 1 hosted Laang Ecklin and the visitors got off to a great start.

Timboon Lawn 1 started to gain traction but Laang Ecklin were too strong, 13-15.

The division one top four this week are: Scotts Creek 1, Timboon Lawn 1, Timboon Lawn 2, Laang-Ecklin.

This week in division two Timboon Lawn 4 had the bye.

Simpson 1 hosted Timboon Lawn 3, but Timboon Lawn 3 was too strong taking out the match 22-19.

Glenormiston 2 hosted Mepunga 2 and despite the home side bowlingwell, Mepunga 2 played just that next level and won, 8-30.

Simpson 2 hosting Mepunga 1 and the match was drawn twice on the 7th and the 10th ends.

With Simpson 2 three shots up with five ends to play, Mepunga 1 come back strong winning, 19-21.

The division two top four this week are: Mepunga 2, Mepunga 1, Simpson 2, Simpson 1.

Division three saw Peterborough hosting Timboon Lawn 5 and while the home side kicked off the match with a triple, Timboon Lawn 5 were too strong winning 9-18.

Cobden 2 host Scotts Creek 3 and the match started off close with the home side leading 8-5 after the halfway mark.

Cobden 2 were too strong defeating Scotts Creek 3, 19-10.

Glenormiston 3 host Scotts Creek 2 and the match was very tight in the first 10 ends of the match, levelled at seven all.

Then Glenormiston 3 went up a gear and defeated Scotts Creek 2, 23-7.

The division three top four this week are: Cobden 2, Scotts Creek 3, Glenormiston 3, Peterborough.

Entries are now being accepted for the Heytesbury Annual Mixed Fours Tournament at Timboon Sporting Stadium on Saturday, June 24, 2023, starting at 10am.

$40/team and tea, coffee andafternoon tea is provided.

The highlights from the Ballarat Intergroup Championship after six games:

- Mens Singles player Arthur Finch has four wins and needs to win both matches on Monday to secure a medal. There was an error with the mat allocations and has to play two matches.

- Ladies Fours players Doreen Coverdale(s), Dawn McDowell, Roelie Maslin and Deb Noonan have four out of six wins so far and need a win on Monday to be in the mix.

- Mixed Fours players George Fox(s), Les Pearson, Rita Mungean/Ron Absalom and Pam Savage are 4½ wins out of six and are looking for a win on Monday to also be in the mix.
