ROUND 10 division one HIBBA action saw the ‘battle of the Camperdowns’.

The‘visitors’ got off to a flyer but by end 15, Camperdown 2 was only down by one shot with three ends to play and both sides were locked at 15-all before Camperdown 1 got the win, 16-15.

Timboon Lawn 1 hosted Glenormiston 1 and by end 10, the scores were locked at seven all.

Glenormiston 1 led from there but by end 16, scores were locked again at 12-all before Timboon Lawn 1 lost to Glenormiston 1, 12-14.

Cobden 1 played host to Scotts Creek 1 and won 21-15 while Laang-Ecklin lost to Timboon Lawn 2, 12-20.

The division one top four this week are Scotts Creek 1, Timboon Lawn 2, Timboon Lawn 1 and Laang Ecklin.

This week’s division two bye was Timboon Lawn 3.

Timboon Lawn 4 hosted Mepunga 1 and this match was hard fought, despite the jack going off four times.

Timboon Lawn 4 lost to Mepunga 1, 16-21.

Glenormiston 2 was home to Simpson 1 and enjoyed the win, 29-7 while Mepunga 2 hosting Simpson 2 and were victorious, 20-15.

Division two top four this week are Mepunga 1, Mepunga 2, Timboon Lawn 3 and Simpson 2.

In division threeScotts Creek 3 played Scotts Creek 2 and the game ended in a 19-all draw.

Timboon Lawn 5 hosted Glenormiston 3.

The home side got out to a 12-shot lead in the first half but the visitors fought back and got back to within three shots into the last end.

Timboon Lawn 5 defeated Glenormiston 3, 17-15.

Cobden 2 hosted Peterborough and the match was tight for the first third of the match but then the home side pushed forward and Cobden 2 defeated Peterborough, 21-10.

Division three top four this week are Cobden 2, Scotts Creek 3, Glenormiston 3 and Timboon Lawn 5.

Last Saturday saw the annual Heytesbury Mixed Fours Tournament held at the Timboon Sports Centre.

Twenty-six teams participated in the biggest turnout since 2017, with teams from Mount Gambier, Melbourne, Ballarat, Bacchus Marsh, Warrnambool and Heytesbury.

One hundred and four players played two games of 10 ends in the morning, with the last end being live (at the non-offending skippers’ discretion).

By the end of the day, there were two teams tied on three wins, 110 points – the teams of Ash Quick and Colin Wilson.

In fourth place, with three wins, 110 points and +12 shots was Ash Quick’s team.

Third place with three wins, 110 points, +17 shots was the team of Colin Wilson from Port Fairy.

Runners-up for the day with four wins, 130 points was Heytesbury’steam Mungean – Noah, Rita, Lara and Jim (Bullow) Mungean.

The winners of the day with four wins, 134 points were the team from Mount Gambier – Craig, Zac, Fiona and Keisha Pearson.

Congratulations to Team Pearson and well done to Team Mungean.

The Victorian side has been selected for the Nationals (to be held in Caloundra).

Entries are now being accepted through club secretaries for the South West Challenge (Heytesbury vs Warrnambool) to be held on Sunday, July 16. Entries close Sunday, July 9.
