HIGH wire antics helped wow the crowds at the annual Heytesbury Show over the weekend.
Show secretary Lynda White said committee members were glad to be back after a three year hiatus due to COVID.
“We had an excellent show and the weather was just perfect,” she said.
“Crowd numbers were fantastic.
“We had about 1000 adults and just under 600 kids which was just great.
“We’re extremely pleased.”
Strong numbers of cattle and horses shown on the day were seen.
The mystery show bag and ultimate ride passes were also well supported, with families making the most of the value for money.
A variety of free activities for children proved popular on the day, including face painting.
In the homecraft pavilion, displays of cooking skills, photography and sewing wowed those attending.
Mrs White said Nic from the Bepop Circus was popular with the young and old alike.
“The chainsaw carving was amazing – we’ve already rebooked him for next year,” she said.
“The animal nursery was popular as always.”
Mrs White thanked those that supported the annual event which has become a mainstay on calendars across the district.
“We’ve got a few new ideas for next year,” she said.
“We’re always on the lookout for new committee members.”
