The season will open with a blockbuster Good Friday match when reigning football premiers South Warrnambool take on Koroit at Friendlies Society Park on March 29.

Round one will kick off on April 6 with a heavy dose of rivalry matches as Terang Mortlake will take on Camperdown at Leura Oval, a grand final rematch will see South Warrnambool meet North Warrnambool at Friendlies Society Park and Portland will take on Port Fairy at Hanlon Park.

A rematch of the 2023 open netball final will have to wait until round six when league powerhouse South Warrnambool meet Cobden at the Cobden Community Bank Recreation Reserve.

Round seven will see a Sunday match with Hamilton Kangaroos and Port Fairy battle it out on May 26.

Bye Rounds have been confirmed for May 4, June 15 and July 6.

A fixtured bye to cater for Interleague Match vs Ballarat FNL has been set for June 15, with the interleague match to be confirmed.

Round 18 will conclude the regular season from August 24, with finals scheduled from August 31.

The grand final is set for Saturday, September 21 as the wider league will look to end the reign of dominance South Warrnambool displayed last season with premierships in the open football, reserves football, open netball and 15 and under netball.

HFNL issued a statement stating a big season ahead was expected.

“Following consultation with clubs, the HFNL are enthusiastic for the season ahead and expect even competition across all grades of football and netball,” the statement read.

“We would like to thank all member clubs for their cooperation during this process.”
