By wd-news

Hill was appointed to the position at the HFNL annual general meeting on Monday night, taking over the top spot from Mike Farrow.

Hill will formally commence the role from January 8 in 2024.

“Many people will know Trent (commonly known as Hilly) from his long-standing involvement in Hampden Football and Netball, most recently as a member of the commentary team for Hampden League Live since 2013 and host of the Football and Netball Online shows,” a HFNL statement read.

“Hilly played Junior Football with South Warrnambool before crossing to South Rovers where he played up until 2012.

“Hilly has spent the last 6 years teaching, and prior to that was a sports journalist at 3YB/Coast FM for 5 years.

“Hilly’s passion for not only HFNL, but sport in the region shone through amongst a strong field of applicants.”

The HFNL executive thanked candidates who took part in the process.

“We’d also like to take this opportunity to once again publicly thank Mike Farrow who concluded his time in this position shortly after the Fresha Finals Series,” the statement continued.

“Trent will officially start in his role on January 8 and can be contactable after this time via admin@hfnl.org.au.

“Please join us in welcoming Trent to the HFNL Family on a more formal basis, along with his wife Bridget and three boys Levi, Arlo and Ned.

“We look forward to a prosperous 2024 season.”
