History on show in Cobden
THE weather failed to dampen spirits at the first annual Cobden Swap Meet and Car Show over the weekend.
Held at the Cobden Pioneer Park on Sunday, the motor show has been a staple on local calendars for more than 20 years, however this year organisers added in a swap meet.
Cobden Pioneer Park volunteer Misty Angus said all reports had been “really, really positive”.
“Everyone that attended had a good time,” she said.
“All the stall holders were happy.
Most of the swap meet stalls were really happy and were keen to come again next year.
“We will make some tweaks for next year.”
The day saw about 30 vehicles enter the car show to the delight of onlookers.
Rainy weather in the morning saw a decline on last year’s entry numbers, according to Mrs Angus.
“All in all considering the weather we were really happy,” she said.
“The kids loved the scavenger hunt and that gave them a chance to explore the park.
“The raffle was drawn and our lucky scratchies were really well received.”
Mrs Angus thanked those who supported the event.
“I’d like to thank all our sponsors and volunteers – without them it doesn’t happen,” she said.
