Hockey champions
CAMPERDOWN College’s year 5/6 hockey team are division champions.
Camperdown College’s year 5/6 hockey team won the grand final at last week’s division hockey tournament.
The team of 12 students headed to Warrnambool last Friday to pitch their skills against sides from several local schools including St Patrick’s School Port Fairy, Grassmere Primary School and Cobden Primary School.
Despite the trying conditions, the team was able to win all five of its matches, including the grand final.
Winning at division level has now qualified them to play in the regional tournament, to be held in Hamilton next month.
To their credit, the side didn’t concede a single goal all day and demonstrated exemplary sportsmanship, supporting each other during the matches.
