HOCKEY returned to Camperdown’s Mockridge Park last week with participants enjoying playing in beautiful sunshine.

In the under 12 competition, the Blue team was victorious against Purple, with Maisie Cunningham filling in and managing to get past a very strong defence to score two goals.

Noah Boyd also got a goal to see them win 3-0.

Best players for Blue this week, as decided by umpire Jude Murfitt, were Sophie, Ruben Van Den Berge and Noah Boyd while Purple’s best were Jess Mahoney, Millie Bourke and Grace Hester.

Green then played White, with Green slotting three goals – with two from Maisie Cunningham and one from Henry Wilkinson.

Maisie Cunningham, Henry Wilkinson and Mateo Boyd were best on field this week for Green.

For White, Zoe Unwin, Macy Smith and Jacob Van Bemmell showed fantastic skills and were named best.

Round one of our full field under 16 mixed competition in Warrnambool kicked off under lights, with a small army of players and families from Corangamite Hockey Club travelling to Warrnambool each week.

It was Corangamite Lakers (maroon) who had the better of a fast finishing Corangamite Craters (white) 4-1.

Congratulations and thank you also to under 16 Mariners player Juliette Pinkerton who made her debut as an umpire for the game.
