Campaign: Timboon and district residents turned out in force to a community meeting last week in a bid to campaign to ensure TDHS remains an independent health service.

Persitant rumours in recent months have alleged the TDHS could be amalgamated into Barwon Health, resulting in a lack of services locally.

A meeting was held last Wednesday night which saw between 150 to 200 people attending.

Member for Polwarth Richard Riordan said the meeting was part of a “grassroots movement”.

“It was a very large rollup,” he said.

“There’s a complete lack of information.

“I share the communities’ concerns.”

As a result of the meeting, the community has started a letter writing campaign and a petition to ensure TDHS remains independent.

The petition can be found at https://www.parliament.vic.gov.au/get-involved/petitions/timboon-district-health-care-service/.
