IN-HOUSE music raising money for local hospitals will make a return to Terang later this month after a two-year hiatus.
The Terang and Mortlake Heath Services’ Hospital Auxiliary launched the format around eight years ago as a fundraising initiative.
Terang and Mortlake Health Services’ Hospital Auxiliary president Michelle Mackinnon said the event would make a return on Sunday, October 23.
Four performances will be hosted across four separate locations on the day, with attendees rotating from location to location to enjoy the musical offerings.
“We’ve got four venues where 25 people can come to each house and rotate around,” Ms Mackinnon said.
“We will finish with an afternoon tea for all the performers and people that attend.”
Terang and Mortlake Health Services’ Hospital Auxiliary secretary Susan Keane will join Ms Mackinnon in performing organ and flute, respectively.
“Susan and I will be performing organ and piano duets, and we will also have a piano, clarinet and flute trios for half hour sets,” she said.
“We thought piano and organ would be something different – something you don’t normally hear.
“With all the other performers including singing, we thought our instrumental approach would be something a little different.”
The other performers will include some notable names from the local music scene.
“We’ll have Phillip Shaw and men’s acapella group Trio Incognito, The TWA Bards, and Lynne Moloney and the Teacher’s Pets,” Ms Keane said.
“They are all very highly accomplished musicians, all local acts, and most importantly this all goes towards raising money for the hospital auxiliary.
“People who come along come back every year because they enjoy it so much.”
Tickets are $25 and available from the Josie Black Community Health Centre in Terang.
