Incident prompts HAZMAT response
EMERGENCY services responded to a HAZMAT incident at Cobdenhealth last Friday.
A Country Fire Authority (CFA) spokesperson said seven CFA units responded to a hazmat incident at around 7.41am on January 19.
“Units responded from Camperdown and Cobden with Fire Rescue Victoria and Ambulance Victoria also on scene,” the spokesperson said.
“Crews are investigating a mix of chemical fluids.
“A scientific officer is on scene. Residential areas are being investigated to clear for residents to return.
“Fifty-five residents were evacuated to a nearby gym.
“The incident was deemed under control at 10.48am.”
