Indoor pennant action

LAST week’s round 13 pennant action for Heytesbury Indoor Bias Bowls saw some upsets.

In division one, Laang-Ecklin defeated top-of-the-table Timboon Lawn 1, Camperdown 1 def. Scotts Creek 1, Camperdown 2 def. Mepunga 1 and Glenormiston 1 went down to Timboon Lawn 2.

Top four - Timboon Lawn 1, Timboon Lawn 2, Camperdown 1 and Camperdown 2. Second to fifth are separated by percentage.

In division two Glenormiston 2 def. Simpson 1, Glenormiston 3 went down to Cobden 1, Timboon Lawn 4 took care of Cobden 2 and Timboon Lawn 3 narrowly went down to Mepunga 2.

Top four - Mepunga 2, Cobden 1, Timboon Lawn 4 and Timboon Lawn 3. Fourth to sixth are separated by percentage.

In division three, Peterborough had the bye this week and Cobden 3 forfeited to Scotts Creek 3.

Mepunga 3 def. Camperdown 3 and Scotts Creek 2 took care of Glenormiston 4.

Top four - Mepunga 3, Scotts Creek 3, Camperdown 3 and Peterborough.

These four teams will play in the division three semi-final in a fortnight’s time, with the order for second to fourth to be determined this week.

VIBBA has recently announced the following date changes:

The VIBBA Champion of Champions Day is now on Sunday, July 28. Good luck to Pam Dwyer and Lyndon Rogerson.

The Victorian State Team Open Fours Practice Day is now on Sunday, August 11.

Last Sunday the Heytesbury Association played the Warrnambool Association in the South West Challenge.

Thirty-six players from Heytesbury and Warrnambool battled it out for bragging rights and this year, it was held at Simpson Hall.

Heytesbury started out strong winning six games to three but the second game, Warrnambool came back cutting the margin back.

The last game of the day was going to determine who was going to take the overall honours.
