Joint work plan for the Curdies

MEMBERS of the Curdies River Consultative Committee met to finalise a joint work plan for the Curdies River recently.
The work plan centres around six key recommendations made by Deakin University researchers in their Curdies River Nutrient Enrichment Study.
Members also started work on a joint communications and engagement plan with the shared goal of better informing and engaging local communities, stakeholders and potential partners.
Following the meeting members attended a site tour where Dean Drayton shared his observations about Scotts Creek and Curdies River and took members on a walk along Scotts Creek towards the confluence with the Curdies River.
The tour also visited a site where past grade control and riparian works were undertaken by Corangamite Catchment Management Authority (CMA) with a local landholder to manage erosion hotspots in Scotts Creek.
At this site, the group heard reflections from the landholder and CCMA project staff on observed changes over time and were shown a demonstration of WaterWatch testing.
