Joy and family fun in Cobden
CHRISTMAS spirit was alive and well in Cobden Sunday.

Hundreds of people turned out to celebrate Christmas-On-Apex, with kid’s entertainment, food and activities on offer.
Event spokesperson Kelvin White thanked the wider community who supported event.
“There was ideal weather in a perfect setting with accessible playground equipment and carefully-selected extras,” he said.
Mr White said the event was well patronised by locals and visitors alike.
“It was especially pleasing to see the number of young families joining the relaxed environment,” he said.
“The concert-on-the-park theme was highlighted by Rockit’s outstanding performance on the Future Freight stage.
“We appreciate the support of major sponsors – the Community Bank, Corangamite Shire, GreenCon, Hewitt and Whitty, Cobden Tools and Trailers, Duncan Morris and Cobden AB, and all businesses who contributed to the traditional monster Christmas raffle.”
Wendy Sambell was an overwhelmed popular winner of the $1200 bike supplied for the raffle by new Cobden business Adams Bikes.
Mr White said stalls all reported pleasing patronage with the Cobden Rotary Club’s sausage sizzle selling out and ice-cream the flavour of the day.
“A special thanks to a small but hard-working Progressing Cobden group that organised the day for the community,” he said.
