July rainfall was average

RAIN was a welcome sight for farmers last month after a dry first six months of the year.

Across Cobden and surrounds, 91.9mm of rain hit the ground over Cobden in July.

The figure was only slightly behind the long-term average for the month at 92.4mm.

While marginally behind the long-term average, last month’s tally was well above last year’s figure of just 47mm.

The highest daily rainfall figure was experienced on July 26, which saw 24.2mm fall in the 24 hour period – more than a quarter of the month’s rainfall total.

So far to date this year, 293.9mm of rain has hit the ground over Cobden and surrounds.
