POMBORNEIT Cricket Club’s under 17 boys have scored their first win of the season.

The side enjoyed a big win over City United at MC Oval last Tuesday.
A strong bowling and fielding performance saw the visitors dismissed for 40, with the wickets being shared.
In reply, the junior Bulls made 7/209 off their 30 overs.
Openers Ben Whytcross (40 retired) and Ollie Delaney (21 retired) reached the 30-ball mark while Gavin Reynolds with 52 and George Sadler 31 batted well.
The Pomborneit Gold under 17 girls started their season with a win over Irrewarra at MCP Oval on Sunday.
Batting first, Gold made 4/121 from their 20 overs.
Openers Neave Thompson and Lucia Clarke both retired on 30.
Irrewarra batted well in reply but fell short, making 3/92 off 20 overs.
Lucia Clarke, Isla Nolan and Neave Thompson took a wicket each.
The Pomborneit Maroon under 17 girls had a bye while the under 16 boys’ game against Heytesbury-Princetown at Timboon was postponed as the home club was unable to field a side on Sunday.
The under 14 boys started their season with a 16 run win over Stoneyford at PirronYallock last Friday.
Ollie Rahles-Rahbula top scored with an unbeaten 16 in Pomborneit’s total of 3/108.
Opening bowlers Bailey Fox (1/6 off three overs) and Hugo Saarikallio (2/10 off three) impressed as the junior Bulls restricted Stoneyford to 9/82 from 30 overs.
The under 13 boys started their season with a 57-run loss to reigning premiers Cobden at Cobden on Monday night.
The Pomborneit team contained six club debutantes in Lucas Place, Coby Cummins-Gray, Basil Hunt, Jerry Wain, Jamie Gardiner and Hamish Christensen.
Pomborneit’s under 13 girls team will start their season this Sunday.
