The side celebrated with an emphatic 59 run win over Colac Burnett at CMTP Oval on Tuesday night.

Batting first, the junior Bulls slumped to 3/20 early on before a crucial 43 run partnership between vice-captain Ben Whytcross and Gavin Reynolds got the innings back on track.

Whytcross retired on 14 from 30 balls and Reynolds made 33 when he reached the 30-ball retirement mark.

Brady Bernoth came in and hit the ball hard and long, smashing 22 from 16 balls including three fours and a six.

Contributions down the order came from Josh Reynolds, who ran hard between the wickets and made an unbeaten 17, and Max Rees who made 11.

Josh Reynolds finished the innings with returning retired player Ben Whytcross, who added another 10 runs to finish on 24 not out as Pomborneit finished on 8/147 from their 30 overs.

A sharp catch in slips to Josh Reynolds from the bowling of skipper Finn Tolland on the third ball of Colac’s innings got the team off to a great start.

This was followed by a caught and bowled to Noah Riches and a Josh Reynolds run-out saw Colac at 3/23.

Regular wickets fell despite Colac continuing to score quickly.

Noah Riches took two more wickets, bowling through the middle of the innings, with Bradey Fratantaro, Isaac Cootesmith and Josh Reynolds chiming in with a wicket each.

The win was sealed with two run outs; the Bulls bowling out Colac for 88.

A large contingent of Pomborneit supporters were at the game.

CMTP Oval became a sea of maroon and gold as the Bulls community joined the players to celebrate the win.

Gavin Reynolds was awarded the player of the match medal for his 33 retired from 30 balls and 0/16 from four overs.

Captain Finn Tolland accepted the premiership cup to mark a most successful foray by Pomborneit into the Colac under 17 competition.

Despite it being a Tuesday night, the win was celebrated back at the Pomborneit clubrooms by all players and many parents and supporters.

All players involved were presented to the crowd.
