ROUND three of the Hockey South West under 16 full-field competition was a tough one for both Camperdown teams.
Two hard fought games saw both Camperdown teams go down, with Technique defeating Lakers 2-0 and Mariners Hockey Club defeating Craters 9-0.
Best for Lakers were Lachlan, Patrick and Taliyah, while Sigmund, Tavish and Hudson were best for Craters.
This was the second consecutive week Sigmund, Lachie and Taliyah were nominated best players.
The modified competition players all played well (despite the scores) with some good tackling and play.
Green drew with Purple 4-all, with goals to Maisie, Henry and Grace.
Umpires’ best players were Maisie, Lawson, Grace and Mateo.
White defeated Blue 10-0 with goals to Jacob, Mali and Henry.
Umpires’ best players were Jacob, Mali, Ruben and Amber.
Thank you to all the subs and Ian who umpired.
Last week’s round four of the under 16 full-field competition saw Camperdown’s two teams compete in a Hockey 5s format due to the junior tournament taking a few players and officials away.
This was an entertaining game and a tight finish.
The Lakers got the win over Craters, 9-8. Best for Lakers were Lachlan and Patrick and for Craters, Kayla and Jess.
Thanks to Tony Pearce for the photos and a reminder to all players to pay your weekly game fee of $5 via the TeamPay app.
The round four modified competition and Hooked into Hockey saw players endure a wet and cold morning, but with loads of enthusiasm.
Green defeated Blue 2-1 with goals scored by Henry, Reuben and Maya.
Umpires’ best players were Jacob, Anna, Mali, Oscar, Mateo and Millie.
Thankyou to those Hooked into Hockey players who stepped up in the modified competition for the first time - Jean, Noah and George - and thanks to umpire Jude, Zoe and all parents for their help in what was a great team effort.
