SIMPSON netballer Kelly Thompson was made a life member of the Tigers when she notched up 200 senior games last weekend.

The versatile A-grader joined an elite group of Tigers when she ran on to the court on Saturday.

“We were absolutely thrilled for Kelly, this is a great achievement,” Tigers senior coach Paige Salmon said.

“Not many people get to play 200 senior games for the one club so this is pretty special."

“Unfortunately we couldn’t add to her celebrations with a win on the day but the team had a great battle with South Colac and I was proud of their efforts.”

Salmon said while the scoreboard showed a 37-45 defeat, the game was played in high spirits.

“All the girls fought hard on what was quite a wet and slippery court."

“Because of the conditions it (the game) probably was slower than expected. But we’ll take a lot away from that game and look to this weekend’s match against Colac Imperials.”

Final scores: Simpson 37 lost to South Colac 45.

Best for the Tigers were Hayley Coulson and 200-gamer Kelly Thompson.

In other results last weekend, Simpson’s C grade side enjoyed a close 35-31 goal win.

Best for the Tigers were Anna Box, Georgia Arndell and Leah Graham.

D grade was defeated 26-42 with Megan Burbidge, Hannah Zappeli and Leesa Seabrook named best.

In the junior matches, the 15 and under side was defeated 10-70 with Ella Arndell, Milah Crole and Esha Crolenamed best.

And in the 13 and unders, Simpson was defeated 17-49 with Esha Crole, Milah Crole and Lucy Jones named best on court.

Although Colac Imperials are currently sitting bottom of the ladder with just one win to date, Salmon said her side will go into the game expecting their opponents to bring their best.

“Just because they’re on the bottom doesn’t mean they should be under estimated,” Salmon said.

“Every game is important in the run home so we will be looking to play our best netball.”

Kelly was excited to share her milestone with team-mate and sister Hayley Pouw.
